Discussion:
who can test what...

I realize that most of us use Linux as their primary OS, but I also realize that
I'm losing track of who has access to / interest in what...

Linux: everyone (or nearly)
Windows: Lubomir, Dirk, Stefan(?), JanM
Mac: Robert, Dirk, Murillo, Jocke(?)
Android: Anton, Dirk, Jocke(?)
iOS: Dirk, Murillo(?), Robert(?)

It would be nice to have a current list so we can get things tested in a more
targeted manner. Would people be ok if I added a little file to the repo that
tracks this?

If you have access to a non-Linux platform and can test, that would be nice
to know, if you can compile on one of those platforms, that would be even
more interesting...

I'm really not sure what's the best way to do this, but I notice that I'm asking
myself this question quite regularly and to always just reach out to the one
person I can think of seems wrong and inefficient...

Thanks

Windows / iOS with the latest almost only as a logbook only. No Linux use
at all.

yes, I can test and build both on Mac and iOS (although building for the latter usually requires some effort to get going again).

Best

Yep, I can build and test on Mac, iOS and Linux.

Whatever you want a more in depth test just let me know.

I haven't been active recently but still build ssrf every now and then
for a quick check.

Test and build: Linux, Android.

And in the past, I could build and test for Windows (MXE crossbuild from
Linux), but as I hardly even do Windows things, I have not used that for
build for a long time. So now, occasionally, Windows test.

it's ok for me.

I can test on Linux, Windows and Android, but just build on linux as I
don't have a building environment set on Windows.

Best regards,

So since a couple people have said this, just to repeat what I said in a
different thread... with current master building for Windows locally is as
easy as

clone sources
cd subsurface
bash ./scripts/windows-container/before_install.sh
bash ./scripts/windows-container/travisbuild.sh

you'll get a win32 directory parallel to that subsurface directory, and in
win32/subsurface you'll find a complete Windows build

This assumes that you're on Linux and that Docker is installed. I don't
think you need much more than that (oh, and some patients and the ability
to download 2+GB over the internet)

What it does is download a customized Ubuntu 18.04 container with MXE
pre-built inside, and then build Subsurface inside of that :-)

So more or less anyone with a reasonably powerful Linux box and an
internet connection can build local Windows binaries

Yes, yes, I use to cross build on mxe, I'd just thought you meant
native building which seems only possible for Lubomir :-)

Correct. I believe Lubomir is still the only person ever to get the native
build to actually work.

He's special :-)
