Discussion:
iOS app no longer switching to device language

Now that we actually have a few developers with clue about iOS applications... while no
one reported this during the loooong beta phase, it appears that I somehow managed to
break support for other languages in Subsurface-mobile for iOS. But given that it's been
so long since we last pushed a full release, I have no idea where to start looking for ideas
what / how this may have gotten broken.

Jan - you certainly made the most changes to our build process for iOS. Any ideas? Do
do test the app in Spanish / Danish or in English?

I am on my iPhone now, and yes here it seems not to change. But on my iPad I used to have Spanish on the beta version. Let me check tomorrow when I get near my iPad.

I normally test with Spanish and English

Just changed language on my iPhone and beta 4.7.8.387 does not change language but my master version 4.7.8.286 does change. I will isolate it a bit closer tomorrow.

Thanks. I appreciate that. The results so far seem to indicate that the issue may be in my build process, though :-(

You do remember that packaging/ios/translations moved to something like packaging/iOS/build-qt5.10 if you ude otter scripts for release building that Might be the problem

Hi Dirk

I have narrowed it down to be between 4.7.8.286 (works) and 4.7.8.357 (which do not work). As far as I can see my movement of packaging/ios/translations is within that range, so maybe you have a script that expect packaging/ios/translations.

I have built the “middle” version, but cannot load it (I am on a ssh to my server from my ipad), as the ipad does not allow me to download the binary package using ssh (any suggestions??)

A side question, how do build/run tests locally ?

I'll look at it over lunch today.

No idea how to do that.

For a number of weird reasons testing "on device" is really hard with my setup. I usually end up uploading it to Apple and then just download it from there as "internal testing" to my iPad. Which makes the turnaround time frustratingly long.

I am without mac until next friday, but that might actually help me.

I only have my ipad and ssh here.

Maybe my test question was worded wrongly. The linux build runs our test suite, how can I do that locally (on a remote mac) ?
